Get Involved with the Hockey Canada Foundation

Volunteer

When you volunteer for the Hockey Canada Foundation, you help more Canadians get access to a game that is deeply connected with what it means to be Canadian. You share the values of honesty, integrity, and inclusion across your community. But most importantly, you help make hockey more accessible for Canadians of all ages, genders, and socio-economic circumstances.

Learn more about how you can get involved here.

Start a Fundraiser

By hosting a fundraiser, you can help grow the game and ensure more Canadians share in the great experiences playing hockey can bring.  Working with the Hockey Canada team, the Foundation will put your donated funds to work to help ensure Canada remains at the forefront in the development and promotion of amateur hockey. Donated funds will be distributed to programs like Hockey Is Hers and Dreams Come True that introduce kids to the game, train and educate coaches, provide new equipment, assist in the growth of both women’s and para hockey, and work in remote and underserved communities.

A third-party fundraiser is planned and operated by groups or individuals not associated with the Hockey Canada Foundation. This could include community groups, businesses, schools, hockey teams, or passionate individuals who want to make a difference. These campaigns not only financially support the foundation, but also raise awareness and spread our message in communities across Canada.

Fundraising ideas can range in scope from a personal campaign to hosting an event. A personal campaign can be as simple as asking for pledges from friends & family based on your volunteer work or designating the Foundation as the charitable cause for a birthday party.  Your campaign can be in honour of any individual or group who made or makes a difference in your life, such as a mentor, coach, player, or teammate. You can also host events like a charity BBQ, bake sale, garage sale, or sport tournament that raise money for the Foundation. Set-up up a personal fundraising page using Canada Helps and use social media and word-of-mouth to spread the word about your campaign. Your fundraiser will make a difference in communities across the country!
