2003-04 National Men's Under-18 Team

IIHF World U-18 Hockey Championship
April 10, 2004
Minsk, BLR

Team Canada dominated the home team Belarus with a 7- 2 victory in its second game of the 2004 World Under 18 Championship held in Minsk. Several penalties called by the Referee Thomas Scuff affected the tempo of both teams early in the game but Team Canada players remained composed and disciplined, scoring three goals in the first period allowing only one to the Belarus Team in front of a capacity crowd of 3500 loud local supporters.

In the second frame Canada extended its lead to a 4-2 before scoring three additional goals in the third period. Canada dominated 27 – 16 shots on net. Justin Pogge protected the crease for Canada making important safes, in particular in short-handed situations. Eric Hunter and John Lammers lead the scoring charge for Canada with two goals each.

Canada plays its next game on April 11 against Denmark who surprised Belarus in their previous contest.
