CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada added forward Kirby Dach (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta./Chicago, NHL) to the roster for Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp, set for Nov. 16-Dec. 13 in Red Deer, Alta.
“Following discussions with the Chicago Blackhawks, we are pleased to add Kirby to the roster for Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp,” said Alan Millar (Tottenham, Ont./Moose Jaw, WHL), the U20 lead for the Program of Excellence management group. “We would like to thank Stan Bowman and the Blackhawks for their support of Canada’s National Junior Team, and wish to welcome Kirby to the roster.”
Dach, the third overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2019 NHL Draft, recorded eight goals and 15 assists in his rookie season with Chicago, and added a goal and five assists in nine playoff games. Internationally, he won a gold medal with Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he collected seven points, and suited up for Team Canada Black at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship begins on Christmas Day with three games before Canada kicks off its tournament schedule on Dec. 26 against Germany at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. TSN and RDS, the official broadcast partners of Hockey Canada, will broadcast all 28 tournament games and the 10 pre-tournament games that begin Dec. 20. TSN Radio will also provide comprehensive tournament coverage, including all Team Canada pre-tournament and tournament games through to the gold medal game.
