Sheldon Lanchbery, of Deloraine, MB, named Chair of the CHA Board; CHA Officers announced

OTTAWA, ON -Sheldon Lanchbery, of Deloraine, MB, was named Chair of the Canadian Hockey Association's Board of Directors, the Canadian Hockey Association announced as the CHA's Annual General Meeting wrapped up on Tuesday in Ottawa, ON.

Lanchbery replaces Wayne Russell, whose two-year term ended with the 2001 CHA AGM. Russell will continue to serve for the next two years as a CHA Officer in the position of Past Chairman.

Lanchbery has been a member of the CHA Board of Directors since 1994, and has served as a CHA Officer since 1996. He was the chairman of the Mentorship Committee which led to the CHA Coach Mentorship program in 2000. He spearheaded the CHA ‘Speak Out' program as chairman of the Harassment and Abuse Prevention Committee. Lanchbery is a native of Saskatchewan, who now practices law in Deloraine, MB, where he lives with his wife, Irene, and two children Meagan 17, and Gerald 14.
