A: The jersey design was inspired by the Northern Storms, which are fast-moving cold fronts that originate from the north (Canada and the Arctic) and send strong winds to the south. These storms cause temperatures to plummet by 20-30 degrees in minutes. Like Team Canada, they are a force of nature.
A: Graphic lines representing the snow and arctic winds created by the Northern Storms were added to the top of the Maple Leaf crest. Not only do these lines give dimension to the leaf, but they remind competitors that a storm is brewing on ice. Similar lines, which can also be seen on a weather map, were used to create a subtle maple leaf pattern on the shoulder yoke of the black jersey.
A: The 2022 Team Canada Olympic hockey jersey was built for performance and sustainability. The jersey features durable, recycled fabric with laser-perforated ventilation and moisture management; a new molded silicone neck grill for added comfort; elastic cuff sleeves with added stretch; and streamlined, yet functional tie-down strap. The jersey was made with Nike Swift technology with the goal of enhancing mobility, reducing weight and minimizing distractions during intense play. Nothing but the best for Team Canada.
