Hockey Canada's first Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place in Winnipeg in 1915. The AGM continued annually until 2014, at which time a new governance model was adopted, resulting in two annual meetings – Spring Congress and Winter Congress.

In May of 2014, Hockey Canada and its Board of Directors approved a new governance model. The decision resulted in changes to the board, as well as Hockey Canada general meetings.
