TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – CALGARY BUFFALOES
It was a two-team race atop the AMHL, with the Calgary Buffaloes outlasting the Foothills Bisons by just a single point. The Buffaloes slumped to three losses in four games in mid-December, but reeled off an 8-1-2 run in their last 11 games, including a 5-2 win over the Bisons on Feb. 1 that put Calgary ahead for good. The Buffaloes led the league offensively, finding the back of the 156 times, and were the embodiment of ‘scoring by committee;’ seven players recorded at least 28 points, led by Zachary Anderson and his 33. Calgary also paced the AMHL in goals against, allowing only 67. Logan Dyck and Taylor Gauthier split the minutes right down the middle in goal, with Dyck finishing third in goals-against average (1.89) and tying for the lead in shutouts (four), while Gauthier was fourth with a .925 save percentage.
