MARITIME JUNIOR A HOCKEY LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM ANNOUNCED

The Maritime Junior A Hockey League has announced its 22-player roster for a pair of pre-tournament games ahead of the 2009 World Junior A Challenge, scheduled for Nov. 1-8 in Summerside, P.E.I. The MJAHL all-stars will take on Canada East in Truro, N.S. on Oct. 29 before facing Belarus the following night in Amherst, N.S.

“This is a great opportunity that we have been given to showcase our players and league against the top talents from Eastern Canada and the country of Belarus,” says Dave Ritcey, vice-president of the MJAHL. “When this opportunity was brought to the board, our chairman, John Lynn, strongly suggested to the 11 governors in the league that if we are to do this, it is important that every MJAHL team has a player represented.”
