Team Finland has claimed bronze at the 2009 Hockey Canada Cup after defeating Sweden 1-0 on Sunday at GM
Place. Finland outshot Sweden 40-23, with the lone goal of the game coming off the stick of Jenni Hiirikoski
in the second period.

Canada’s National Women’s Team will face the United States in the final of the
2009 Hockey Canada Cup. Sarah Vaillancourt and Hayley Wickenheiser each had a pair of goals as Canada beat
Sweden 7-2 in a semi final on Saturday night at GM Place.

Finland on Saturday at the Hockey Canada Cup. With the win, the Americans advance to Sunday’s gold medal game

period en route to their first loss of the tournament. Canada will now face Sweden in Saturday’s late

Team Sweden was outscored 14-0 in consecutive losses to Canada and the United States but the
team bounced back on Thursday, defeating Finland 3-1. The win put Sweden into a tie with the Finns, as both
teams are 1-2. Semi final play is set for Saturday.

two assists to lead the United States to a 7-0 victory over Sweden on Tuesday afternoon at the 2009 Hockey
Canada Cup in Vancouver, B.C.

Rebecca Johnston and Hayley Wickenheiser scored two goals apiece and
Shannon Szabados needed to make just six saves for the shutout as Canada blanked the Swedes in its tournament
opener.

Noora Raty made 49 saves and the Finns overcame a two-goal
first-period deficit to upset the Americans in the tournament’s opening game. Emma Laaksonen had the winner
early in the third period.
